questions

We’ve compiled responses to some frequently asked questions regarding our celebration.

We hope this helps you feel prepared and confident as the day approaches.

What will the weather be like?

The weather is typically mild and pleasant, with daytime highs around 21–24°C and nighttime lows near 13–16°C. You can expect mostly sunny or partly cloudy skies, with a moderate chance of light rain. Humidity is generally comfortable, making it a great time for outdoor events with light layers for the evening.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive on time, we are not running on middle eastern time, we don’t want you risking missing out on the start of the ceremony, or embarrassingly walk in when the bride is walking down the aisle.

Will there be parking available?

Off-site self-serve parking is available directly across from the building entrance at 20 Old Mill Rd. Rates are $2.00/hour, with a maximum daily rate of $12.00

Where is the ceremony?

Located in the Secret Garden. Once you arrive please park your vehicle (if you are driving) in the paid parking lot across the street. Cross the road and walk up the hill to the Chapel Entrance located at the top of the hill, look for the Canadian flag. The Secret Garden Patio will be just past the Chapel after the round about.

Where should I sit?

We are on a first come first serve for ceremony, there are no groom side or bride side, we’re all family, sit wherever you want. There is however assigned seating for dinner. We will have a seating chart available in front of the reception room entrance.

What is the dress code?

Time to get fancy! The dress code is formal, which means suits for the fellas and cocktail dresses or gowns for the ladies. It’s not a black-tie gala, but it’s a once-in-a-lifetime party—so bring your sparkle and style!

11:00 pM

It means the world to us to be surrounded by those closest to our hearts on our wedding day.

For this reason, we’re keeping our celebration small and meaningful. We hope you understand that invitations are limited to those named, and we won’t be able to accommodate plus ones.

As for the little ones—we kindly ask that only infants (0 to 12 months) be in attendance.

our story

In case you’re curious, we wanted to share our love story with you. All the little moments that grew into something lasting and meaningful. Here's a little snapshot of how we got here.

It all began on Sunday, May 19, 2024, when two exhausted but hopeful hearts crossed paths on Hinge. Tammy was instantly charmed by Alex’s witty dad joke prompt and drawn in by his quiet, artistic soul and humble presence. Alex was captivated by Tammy’s striking dark features, her love for Christ, and her deep passion for music. He knew right away - if he didn’t act quickly, he’d risk letting someone truly special slip away.

Just two days later, on May 21, they met for their first date at Scaddabush. After a long string of disappointing first dates, neither knew what to expect - but this one felt different. As Alex shared stories from his recent European adventure and Tammy listened with curiosity and laughter, something sparked. They weren’t ready for the night to end, so they continued their date over coffee - one of their shared loves - and ended up talking until closing time, diving into conversations about faith, purpose, and their mutual love for food, family, and Jesus. By the end of the night, they both sensed God was beginning to write a new and beautiful chapter in their lives.

On May 31, 2024, just ten days later, Alex and Tammy made it official. Their connection only deepened as they got to know each other more. Alex met Tammy’s family and church community, and it felt to her like the missing puzzle piece she’d been waiting for. When Tammy visited Alex’s home, she was embraced with the warmth of a family that felt like long-lost relatives.

Three months into dating, on a whim, they thought it would be fun to check out some wedding venues—“just to see.” After visiting a few, they stumbled upon one they both loved and joked, “Maybe we should just put a down payment for a year from now… you never know.” But that playful moment led to deeper conversations about their future. What started as a joke turned into heartfelt clarity: they truly did want to spend the rest of their lives together. There was a peace and assurance in their hearts that neither had ever felt before. It just felt right.

On February 1, 2025—nine months after their first date - Alex proposed at their favourite coffee shop, Canella, surrounded by a few of Tammy’s closest friends and family. And of course, she said yes.

This is just the beginning of a love story written by God - one grounded in faith, laughter, music, and the deep knowing that sometimes, love really does find you when you least expect it.
